We had a moment back in July when we thought we were going to have to hand Mo back over to his mom. Fortunately we didn't have to do that. We did however have to get CPS involved in his case. And we had about a month of feeling like it was necessary to sleep with the shotgun readily accessible. His mom is not the most psychologically stable person and after some threats from her felt a little insecure in our own home...that was a terrible feeling.
CPS did an investigation and determined that he is to remain in our home and is only allowed CPS supervised visits with his mom. Since then she's been in jail and can't complete her CPS ordered services so she won't be regaining custody any time soon. We've had him 9 months now and will happily go to court and fight to keep him. CPS will be visiting her in jail next week and assessing the situation and then will likely close his case which basically just defaults us back to our original legal agreement with her.
So thats the scoop on Mo-man! Keep praying that his mom will make the right decision on her own. We really don't want to be the "bad guys" by taking her to court and fighting to take away her son from her.
