The great news in all of this is that since we reside in Ft. Bend, the case gets filed here. We'll get one of 4 judges, all of whom are good. There's 18 judges in Harris County, some flakier than others. We've got good odds here in Ft. Bend. Getting conservatorship shouldn't be too hard, but getting to adopt will be an uphill battle. But I'll be satisfied for now with just knowing that his mom can't just show up out of nowhere and demand him back.

Moving Forward
Today we made a very important first step in trying to eventually adopt Mo. We've hired a lawyer and are filing for custody. The initial step for us is to get conservatorship and then work toward an adoption. We should know by the end of the week what our court date will be. We're looking at the week before Thanksgiving, possibly the week after depending on what court we land in.

Praying for a good outcome for Mo! Good job on the costumes, so happy I was out of town this time around and did not have to provide 3 costumes to my 3 picky girls!
